Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are reacting positively to quotes from one of their emerging stars, who has signalled his intention to remain in North London.
Costa Rican international Joel Campbell has struggled to replicate his international form in the Premier League, up until recent weeks where he has earned his chance due to the injuries to Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Since scoring his first goal for the club in the 3-0 victory over Swansea City, Campbell has shown signs of improvement and has now told The International Business Times of his desire to become an iconic figure at the Emirates.
“No (I didn’t want to move). I’m here at Arsenal, I am very happy. I keep fighting for my dream and I think I still have a long-term future here.”
“Obviously a player always wants to play but in a team which has so many quality players like Arsenal, you need to be patient and taking the chance when it arrives.”
Campbell faced a baptism of fire following the injuries to Arsenal’s regular stars, with his run of appearances including games against Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur, but the Gooners at the bar are pleased by what he has shown.
