Arsene Eventually Pips Tottenham After Tense Negotiations

Arsenal are expected to announce a deal for Dinamo Zagreb’s teenage defender Sime Vrsaljko and Matteo Kovacic according to Croatian media sources.

Dinamo Zagreb ’s vice president Zdravko Mamic claimed last month that he had rejected an offer from Arsenal for Vrsaljko and his younger club mate Mateo Kovacic.

However, sources at the Croatian club now say Arsenal are close to reaching agreement that ought to be announced in a matter of days.

Reading between the lines it looks as if this was the usual business of the agents dragging out proceedings as they attempted to whore the player around to a number of Premiership outfits including Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.
