Aston Villa registered their second consecutive win against Brighton on Saturday afternoon in dramatic style.
The Villans initially fell behind courtesy of an Adam Webster header at the back-post but after Aaron Mooy foolishly got himself sent off for two bookable offences, the hosts gained momentum and got themselves back into the tie.
Before long, Villa drew level through a Jack Grealish tap-in just before the interval. The game remained all-square for the majority of the second half, with both sides looking as though they’d be sharing the spoils in the West Midlands, before Grealish set up summer signing Matt Targett for a last-gasp winner in the 94th minute.
The left-back made a surging run into Brighton’s box and leathered the ball home across the face of goal to make it 2-1. Unsurprisingly, Villa Park completely erupted and Targett was joined in celebration by all of his teammates by the corner flag, with skipper Grealish notably overjoyed with what had just happened.
