Plenty of Aston Villa fans have poured in their positive messages on Twitter after seeing that Dean Smith has signed a new deal at Villa Park.
The 48-year-old will now be contracted at the club until 2023 and has been rewarded for his work in getting the club promoted and now competing in the Premier League.
So far this season, it has been a decent start for his side. Considering that 12 players were bought permanently to the club in the summer, they haven’t taken too long to gel. It hasn’t been perfect, but after 13 games they are four points clear of the relegation zone.
In addition to this, the Villa coach also has the blessing from his fans, bearing in mind that he is a supporter of the club.
Even though relegation remains a possibility, this long-term contract could ensure that he has the backing of the board if Villa do get relegated, which is obviously a huge confidence boost for the manager.
