Aston Villa: Fans desperate for John McGinn to stay

This summer promises to be a big one for both clubs involved in this story. As Man United seemingly look to go about things differently by signing younger homegrown stars in the form of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James, Villa have been busy in the market themselves.

Keeping John McGinn at Villa Park will be key, though, as The Scottish Sun has linked him with a £50m move to Old Trafford.

The Scotland international signed for the Midlands giants last summer, as per BBC, snubbing Celtic to move to England, and his first season has been a dream as he helped the Villans win promotion via the play-offs, scoring seven times and assisting ten in the process.

If this deal does go through, it will reportedly cost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer up to £50m, a transfer that would smash the previous record fee of a Scottish player. That record currently stands at £13m from when RB Leipzig swooped to sign Oliver Burke, BBC

Obviously, becoming the world’s most expensive Scot would be an impressive title for a midfielder who only left Hibernian last summer, but as things stand he’s still a Villan, and that’s the way the claret and blue faithful will surely want things to stay.

The Villans are all making things very clear on this one and are adamant that they don’t want to sell McGinn anytime soon for any price.
