It hasn’t even been two weeks since Tom Heaton signed for Aston Villa, but he’s already shown the fans what he’s all about after his £8m move from Burnley with a strong performance against Tottenham, earning himself a 6/10 rating from The Independent.

The former Burnley captain made a solid debut against Tottenham as he produced a couple of top saves to keep his new side in with a shout of victory after they went 1-0 up.
The 33-year-old pulled off notable saves from a Christian Eriksen free-kick to keep Tottenham out before pulling off a fine stop from close-range before Tanguy Ndombele eventually got the home side back on level terms. The goals that he did ship were not at all the new man’s fault, and the fans have been quick to praise their new glove-man for his debut.

He was quality.
Anyone else thinks he looks like he could be Dean Smith’s son?

With a return to Villa Park next for Aston Villa as the play-off winners host Bournemouth, Heaton will be looking for his first clean sheet for his new side.
