Aston Villa: Fans give their thoughts on former player Curtis Davies

Loads of Aston Villa supporters have been airing their thoughts on social media regarding former player Curtis Davies.

The defender was signed by Martin O’Neill in the summer of 2008 on a permanent deal having spent the previous campaign on loan at Villa Park (The Telegraph).

Much was expected when Davies moved to Villa, indeed as an article in the Birmingham Mail recently stated he was predicted to be a future England centre-back. Despite a positive start he ended up losing his place in the team following an injury, as he explained in the same article.

“The next season came along and I had shoulder problems. I dislocated my shoulder three times in a month. After that, it was just before the deadline and they signed Richard Dunne and James Collins and, after that, I was never getting back in,” said Davies.

Twitter account @AVFC_News recently asked fans what their thoughts were of Davies’ time at the club and many were actually quite complimentary about him. However, there were others who didn’t seem to rate him. Here is what some had to say…
