Many Aston Villa fans have handed Conor Hourihane a verdict over his future as the midfielder enters the final year of his contract.
Republic of Ireland international Hourihane moved to Villa Park back in 2017 from Barnsley and he played a big part in helping the Midlands outfit to a Championship play-off win over Derby County last season.
Making 141 appearances for the Claret and Blue outfit during his time at the club so far, the 29-year-old midfielder has found consistent playing time hard to come by in the Premier League this time round, making 22 appearances in total including 14 starts.

Signing a new and extended contract last summer, the £5.4m valued midfielder will now head into his final 12 months seeing his current deal expire in June 2021.
Reacting to an article which looked deeper into the midfielder’s Villa future, shared by Birmingham LIVE writer Ashley Preece, Villa fans gave their opinion (shown below).

Preece, who writes about Villa on a regular basis, also chose to comment on how Hourihane has lost his place to Douglas Luiz with the Brazilian being in superb form throughout the current Premier League campaign.
It seems that the majority of fans want the Irishman to remain at the club. Some point to the fact that he is an excellent servant having helped the club to promotion, whilst others suggest he could be of particular use if they are relegated, which looks a possibility given they sit 18th in the Premier League at the moment.
