Lyon striker Bertrand Traore is reported to have completed a medical in Copenhagen ahead of his proposed move to Aston Villa.
Villa boss Dean Smith has already added some extra firepower to his attacking options ahead of his side’s opening Premier League fixture, sealing a deal for Ollie Watkins last week.
Watkins netted an impressive 26 goals in the Championship last term for Brentford and the youngster will be expected to provide more consistency than the likes of Mbwana Samatta, Keinan Davis and Wesley who all struggled to find goal-scoring form last term.
To add to Watkins’ arrival, Villa are now being linked with Lyon striker Traore, with a BBC report claiming that talks are underway over a £19m transfer.
The ex-Chelsea man has scored 33 goals during his time with Lyon, appearing 126 times for last season’s Champions League semi-finalists and it is now being reported that a medical has been completed.

Honestly, I’ve been quite sceptical of Traore but I’m getting excited now. He has bags of pace, some good tricks in his locker and a decent left peg. Definitely a unpredictable player who will cause trouble for opposition defences and something we really lacked last season.
