Napoli duo Jose Callejon and Fernando Llorente are both transfer targets for Aston Villa this month, that is according to a report from Italian news outlet Area Napoli.
Dean Smith is desperately looking for new attacking players in this window after main striker Wesley was ruled out until next season after suffering knee ligament damage in their New Year’s Day victory against Burnley (BBC Sport).
According to the report, Villa director Jesus Vicente Garcia Pitarch has been scouring the Italian market of late which has led to the interest. Callejon is out of contract in the summer, but according to the report would still cost around £10 million.
Meanwhile, they would have to pay around £2 million to secure the services of Llorente, who only joined the Serie A outfit in the summer after leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
It is fair to say that both players would be popular signings amongst the Villa faithful, with many taking to Twitter to admit they would love to see the duo join the West Midlands outfit. Here is what some had to say…
