Many Aston Villa fans have responded on Twitter to the news that they are taking potentially another look at a new goalkeeper.
According to The Athletic’s Jeff Rueter, the Villans are having Minnesota United goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair train at the club for two weeks alongside goalkeeping coach Stewart Kerr.
With Tom Heaton, Lovre Kalinic, Jed Steer and Orjan Nyland all on the books at Villa Park, this came as a bit of a surprise to lots of fans.
New signing Heaton has got the nod so far. He has played every single game this campaign – with an average match rating of 6.53 – and Steer has featured just the once, according to stats from WhoScored.
Considering the depth in that position, there is no doubt that if they are taking a serious look at St. Clair, then they will be looking at the longterm rather than the short term, with the ‘keeper being just 22 years old.
Lots found the information rather funny bearing in mind the situation in goal at the moment, while others just questioned it.
Here are some of the responses below…
The only thing better than 4 goalies is 5 goalies

I dont think nyland and kalinic will stick around long term so they may be taking a look at longer term back up players.
