Loads of Aston Villa fans have been reacting to a huge claim Andy Gray has made about Jack Grealish and Liverpool.
According to the beIN SPORTS pundit, the 24-year-old is better than any of the Reds’ midfield players, which is quite a big statement to make. After all, Jurgen Klopp has some very good individuals there, individuals who managed to secure the club’s sixth Champions League title last season.
That being said, there are certainly areas where Grealish is undoubtedly excelling in compared to his rivals. Take carrying the ball, for example. Currently, the Villa skipper is averaging 2.2 dribbles per Premier League game (via WhoScored).
No Liverpool player, let alone midfielder, is completing more. With 2.7 key passes per game, he also trumps every member of Klopp’s squad other than Trent Alexander-Arnold in that department.
With that in mind, it was no surprise to see so many Villa fans laud their captain in response to Gray’s claim. Some, though, took a more pessimistic tone, declaring that the club will not be able to hold onto their prized asset.
