Aston Villa Women’s side have confirmed the signing of Anita Asante from Chelsea via their official website.
The Claret and Blue side are making significant changes to their side this summer ahead of the new season, completing a move for Chloe Arthur from rivals Birmingham City last week.
The 25-year-old midfielder will move across the city of Birmingham having had a two-year spell with the Blues and is became the first of Gemma Davies’ summer signings ahead of the new Barclays FA Women’s Super League season.

And, she will now be joined by 35-year-old defender Asante, who has left Chelsea for a move to Villa.
Asante who is an England regular, has racked up a total of 70 international caps for the Lionesses and has had spells throughout her domestic career in USA and Sweden.
Reacting to her move to Villa, fans gave their opinion via the Villa women’s official Twitter account. Naturally, most are delighted to sign such an accomplished international player.
