Many Aston Villa fans are reacting to a tweet from Ashley Preece, who has spoken about midfielder Jacob Ramsey following his first start for the club in the Premier League.
It was a great game to make his first start as it was a 1-0 victory against Midlands rivals Wolves. Preece, a journalist for the Observer, praised the midfielder as he said: “The kid from Pheasey – Great Barr – showing the 127-capped João Moutinho how it’s done. Really proud of you JJ, you’re a star!”
The stats show why the journalist was so impressed as Ramsey won three ground duels, completed two dribble attempts as well as two long balls. He also looked good defensively as he blocked one shot and made a clearance (SofaScore).
He is only 19 years-old and his performance against Wolves shows that Villa may have a future star in their ranks. It is understandable to see why many fans are so happy with the player, as current captain and star player Jack Grealish is a product of the academy, and if they can find more talent like this from the club’s youth ranks, they will have plenty of reasons to be cheerful in the future.
Here is what Villa fans said following the tweet:
Looked so comfortable on a first start dont think i saw him put a foot wrong and wow some of those deliveries 👏

Had a good debut. I would have liked to see him higher. Will be interesting what we do against Burnley. You would think Mcginn and Nakamba sit. Hopefully Barkley is back.
