Aston Villa fans were delighted to see one of Pepe Reina’s earliest moments as a Villa player – after footage of his ‘initiation’ emerged online.
Along with fellow newbie Danny Drinkwater, the Spanish goalkeeper could be seen standing on a chair singing ‘La Bamba’ in his native language, and clearly getting into the spirit of things.
That led to a positive reaction from the Villa faithful, who responded to the video on Twitter by praising the ‘keeper’s performance and showing their admiration towards their new signing, who joined on loan from AC Milan last week with Tom Heaton out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
The Spaniard made his debut for the Villans in their 1-1 draw against Brighton on Saturday as Jack Grealish rescued a point for the visitors, but not before a bit of traditional housekeeping for the new arrivals – reactions to which you can find below:
