Aston Villa were unfortunate not to come away from north London with at least a point on Sunday.
After initially taking the lead through John McGinn, the Villans – who were at a man advantage after Ainsley Maitland-Niles saw red for a second bookable offence – were pegged back by a Nicolas Pepe penalty on the hour mark.
Dean Smith’s men immediately hit back through summer signing Wesley, however, but saw their slender lead evaporate in the final ten minutes of the clash courtesy of goals from Calum Chambers and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Villa had a penalty shout turned down right at the death, as Gunners defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos looked to have handled the ball in the area, though the spot-kick was not given by referee Jon Moss or the VAR and the game ended narrowly in favour of the 10-man hosts.
After the game, midfielder Jack Grealish took to Twitter to thank the travelling support. Some fans were quick to share their views on the match with Villa’s No.10.

Even at 11 V 11 we took the game to them. So many positives from the game Jack. Just focus on those. Results will come. Just need to be a bit smarter in the last 10-15 mins of games. We’ve played decent in every game against some tough opposition.
