Aston Villa have been met with some potentially positive news ahead of their Premier League game with Sheffield United on Wednesday evening.
Villa return to action after not playing since early March due to the pandemic and Dean Smith’s side will be looking to kick-start their top flight survival chances with a win over Chris Wilder’s impressive visitors.
Sitting 19th in the Premier League but having gained promotion alongside the Blades last term from the Championship, Villa have had a very contrasting season to their opponents.
United sit in the top half of the league table and could leapfrog Manchester United into fifth place if they secure three points at Villa Park.
However, that hope for the visitors has taken a slight blow with reports suggesting that Jack O’Connell will not be available for the game due to injury.
The defender has featured in all of United’s Premier League games this season and therefore, it will be his first absence of the 2019/2020 season.
Responding the news of the defender’s absence, Villa fans seem buoyed, responding to Gregg Evans’ tweet.
