Many Aston Villa fans reacted to a post from the club’s official Twitter account wishing Tom Heaton a happy birthday.
Heaton has made 20 appearances in the Premier League for Dean Smith’s side this season, conceding 35 goals and keeping 4 clean sheets, before being sidelined by a nasty knee injury. The England international has played for a number of clubs across all divisions in English football, including the likes of Burnley, Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers. He notably won the Champions League and Premier League with Manchester United, though he was never a regular at Old Trafford (Transfermarkt).

Throughout his long career so far, the Red Devils academy graduate has played in 116 games in the top flight up until now, making a staggering 408 saves, taking 96 high claims, and completing 53 sweeper clearances (data provided by the official Premier League website).
The 34-year-old’s current market value is estimated at £4.32m via Transfermarkt, and, if the Claret and Blues are indeed relegated, it remains to be seen if he will stick with the squad in the Championship.
Understandably, the club’s tweet resulted in loads of replies from the Villa Park faithful, with several Villans calling the veteran shot-stopper a “cracking player” and “England’s number 1.”
