Some Aston Villa fans have reacted to a claim made by Sky Sports who report that the club will look to sign a new winger and a new striker.
The 2019/20 season was an inconsistent one for Dean Smith’s side, who needed a final day draw against West Ham United to secure the club’s top-flight status. Improvements will now need to be made by Smith this summer as he looks to enhance certain areas and one of those is expected to be at centre-forward.
After signing Brazilian striker Wesley last summer, Villa saw the former Club Brugge man gradually adapt to English football and net five goals before suffering a season-ending injury. That forced Smith into a January deal for Mbwana Samatta, but the Tanzanian striker netted just one league goal for Villa through to the end of the season.
With the transfer window now open, Sky Sports‘ claim has prompted fans to respond with their thoughts via @villareport. A couple asked for the return of previously on-loan Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, while one supporter made the ambitious tongue-in-cheek request for Paris Saint-Germain duo Kylian Mbappe and Neymar:
