Plenty of Aston Villa fans have been rebuking links to Daniel Sturridge, highlighting the 30-year-old’s history with injuries.
According to Fanatik (via Sport Witness), the Midlands club have offered Trabzonspor €5m (£4.2m) for their striker as Dean Smith looks to bolster his forward options further. The Villa boss has already added Mbwana Samatta to his squad this month but does not look done there following the reported interest in Sturridge.
The Englishman has four league goals to his name this season and is currently averaging 1.9 shots per game and 1.7 dribbles per game. That is higher than Samatta’s averages of 1.8 and 0.7, although his were recorded in the Champions League by WhoScored.
Whatever the case, due to his injury record, a lot of Villa supporters do not want the former Liverpool man anywhere near Villa Park, with Transfermarkt showing the extent of his injury problems.

Zero chance that. Injury prone, high wages and no resale value.
