Many Aston Villa fans have suggested which player they would bring back in an ideal world this January.
The Twitter page @AVFC_News asked its followers the question, suggesting former La Liga and Ligue 1 winner John Carew.
The claret and blue faithful have had a decent start to the season and are currently 15th in the Premier League table, but may want to add more legs to the team in the upcoming window to try and push themselves to safety.
It is likely that the team will still be gelling, though, considering that 12 players were brought to the club for a total of £133.74m, according to Transfermarkt.
With that summer expenditure being so high they may also struggle to bring more players through the door in the January window, even if they have been linked with big-money moves for Brentford’s Said Benrahma (The Sun) and Norwich’s Emi Buendia (Sky Sports via Pink’un).
There was a variety of names mentioned by fans who wanted to see some former players back at the club. Amongst them were Ashley Young, Christian Benteke and James Milner.
