Aston Villa midfielder reveals all about summer move

Quoted by SportWitness, Aston Villa’s Jordan Veretout has told France Football he could well have had joined Leicester City last summer, though neither sections of support seem overly bothered in the Transfer Tavern.

The irony is, of course, that the Foxes went on to win the Premier League last season as Villa sunk without a trace to drop into the Championship, leaving some of our local punters here in the Transfer Tavern feeling genuinely sorry for the player’s luck.

The Frenchman, however, is not fussed.

“No, frankly, no. Everyone was talking to me about it, but it was my choice”, he revealed.

”I don’t regret anything. I could have been at Leicester and things might have been different. You cannot have regrets.”

Since Villa’s relegation Veretout has seen himself move on loan to St. Etienne for this season as the Villans try to bounce back to the Premier League under new manager Steve Bruce.

He endured a miserable campaign in the Midlands, when a move to the eastern part of that region would have seen him crowned as champion of England.

Who’d be a footballer, eh?

They are currently 15th in the table, six points off of the top six.
