Aston Villa: Jack Grealish’s England absence has fans talking

Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to Jack Grealish’s absence from Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the games against Iceland and Denmark.
Villa club captain Grealish was in remarkable form last season, netting an impressive eight goals in 36 Premier League games.
The Birmingham-born attacking midfielder proved key to Villa’s survival from relegation, scoring a vital goal in the 1-1 draw with West Ham United on the final day of the season which ultimately ensured the Midlanders’ safety.
Such good form has seen Grealish tipped to go on and become an England regular, but he has not been included in the games to face Iceland and Denmark in the Nations League.
Here is your first #ThreeLions squad of the year! 🙌

I think the fact that he performed so well for Villa even though we were under the cosh for most games, indicates a fighting spirit that is lacking in Southgates England teams of late.

If I was Jack Grealish, I would be playing my football the way I wanted, wearing my shin pads the way I wanted and if it didn’t suit I’d be playing where it did.

I find Southgate’s assessment that Villa fans are upset because he left us a display of staggering arrogance. I’m upset as Grealish has proven his value, no other reason. I would never want to stop a player furthering his career by joining Middlesbrough FC.#UTV #jackgrealish
