Aston Villa: Fans react as Mason Mount praises Jack Grealish
With Gareth Southgate preferring an England formation which typically only suits one creative attacking midfielder, Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has been battling with players like Mason Mount for a place in the lineup.
The Chelsea star has been speaking about Grealish, and many Villa fans are reacting to these comments, in which Mount has heaped praise on his fellow playmaker. Fans have loved what the Blues player has had to say, with one even jokingly calling him ‘the Mighty Mason Mount’.
Speaking to Indy Football via @villareport, Mount said: “On Jack you know what he can do, he’s a world class player that can create and score goals and that’s what we need in any England team.”
Southgate has been selecting Mount over Grealish, however Villa fans have a right to be frustrated by this as the Chelsea star has only managed one goal and one assist in the Premier League this season (WhoScored). Meanwhile, the Villa captain has four goals and five assists (WhoScored).
The Villa skipper was in phenomenal form again last weekend against Arsenal, providing an assist in the dominant 3-0 win.
