Plenty of Aston Villa supporters have been reacting to a further update regarding contract extensions to three first-team players.

The Telegraph’s John Percy shared a story on Friday lunchtime claiming the club were set to offer Ezri Konsa and Tom Heaton new deals in the Midlands.

Konsa’s extension has since been announced by the club, with the centre-back penning terms at Villa Park until 2026.

However, in Percy’s article, he suggested that midfielder Douglas Luiz, left-back Matt Targett and right-back Matty Cash are also in line to be offered new improved contracts.

All three have been regulars in Dean Smith’s side this season. Both Luiz and Targett are under contract until 2023, whereas Cash’s deal doesn’t expire until 2025, but it seems as if the club want to reward the trio for their impressive displays during the current campaign.
