Aston Villa were in the news on Friday after reports linking Jack Grealish with a move to Manchester City intensified.

However, the club also shared their Papa John’s Trophy group stage draw on their official Twitter page, which led to a number of fans reacting to the post.

Villa were drawn against three League One sides in Burton Albion, Milton Keynes Dons and Wycombe Wanderers.

Mark Delaney will take charge of the club’s academy side in the tournament, and they’ll be hoping for a better performance in the competition this time around.

Villa lost all three group games last year, conceding 14 goals and scoring just twice. It did give the club’s youngsters valuable experience at senior level, though, something they will look to build on this season.

Villa fans react

The club shared their opponents on Twitter on Friday morning. These Villa fans were quick to reply, but they only wanted to talk about Grealish and his possible move to City.
