Aston Villa winger Trezeguet made a long-awaited return from injury on Monday evening.

The 27-year-old played 60 minutes for the club's under-23s against Birmingham City, with a number of fans reacting on social media after he scored in his first game back.

Trezeguet has been sidelined since April after he sustained a serious knee injury against Liverpool. Eight months on and the Egyptian is back playing in claret and blue, marking his return with a goal from the penalty spot.

The winger made it 2-1 to Villa on 32 minutes and made way on the hour mark for Declan Firth. Villa went on to draw with their Midlands rivals 3-3 despite being 3-1 up, leaving them fifth in Premier League 2 Division 2.
