Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a transfer report linking Sampdoria’s Omar Colley to the club.
Genoa-based media outlet Il Secolo XIX claim Villa are just one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in making a move for the 27-year-old defender, who has made 52 appearances in the Italian top flight during his career.
The transfer report claims that Claudio Ranieri’s side are holding out for around £18 million for Colley who has also gained the interest of Burnley, Newcastle United and Southampton.
Villa boss Dean Smith is seemingly looking to bolster his squad options this summer after narrowly escaping relegation to the Championship, drawing with West Ham United on the final day.
Colley can play on either the right or left side of central defence and 12 international caps for Gambia.
The Banjul-born footballer tested positive for coronavirus in March but he has since recovered from the virus.
Reacting to the transfer report linking Colley with a move to Villa Park, fans of the Claret and Blue side gave their response via Twitter account Aston Villa News.
Are people mad our defence is poor at best was good for 8 games out of 38 of course we need something more

This makes sense only if we’re selling Mings or Hause.
Don’t believe it for a second.

CB not a priority position, imho.
Unless he’s a huge improvement on what we have in that position, why not focus (esp. £££) on more urgent areas?
Want a CB, of quality, for nowt?

Yet another claim. Laughable. If Samatta recommends him forget it.
