Aston Villa have confirmed that Tyrone Mings has been called up to the England national team for the first time in his career.
The Villa centre-back has been included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2020 European Championship qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo:

The defender has worked his way up towards this, having been consistently impressive for Villa, both on loan and since joining permanently during the summer.
This season, the 26-year-old has won 3.3 aerial duels per game, while also averaging 0.7 tackles, 1.7 interceptions, 10.7 clearances and 2.3 blocks, as per WhoScored.
He also provided the assist for Villa’s first goal back in the Premier League and has a pass success rate of 72.5%.
Judging from the response to the tweet, these Villa fans feel the call up is thoroughly deserved and they can’t wait to see him in an England shirt.
