Aston Villa fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are given the disappointing news by The Mirror as Aston Villa eye Fulham’s Lasse Vigen Christensen as a potential replacement for Fabian Delph.
The Danish Under-21 international has been impressive in the Championship and he has been singled out as a possible replacement for Delph who could be on his way to Liverpool or Tottenham in January.
The 20-year-old has been a standout performer at Craven Cottage and he is set to follow a similar course to Delph who left Leeds United for the Premier League back in 2009.
The reality of Delph departing Villa Park is looking even more likely as he has refused a new deal at Villa Park even though his current contract expires at the end of the season, putting pressure on Paul Lambert to sell him.
But it will not be easy for Lambert to sign Christensen with QPR also interested and it is expected Fulham will only sell him for a big fee.
Punters believe it will take Villa £5 million to land the young Dane which is a big gamble on a youngster who has just burst onto the scene in the Championship.
