Aston Villa have made an offer for Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, according to Calciomercato, and a number of Villa fans have been giving their thoughts to the transfer update via social media.
Villa were first linked with a move for the centre-back at the end of November, with The Mirror claiming that Steven Gerrard was hoping to persuade Jurgen Klopp to part ways with the player in a January loan deal.

The 24-year-old has only made three starts for the Reds this season across all competitions, and it appears as if Villa have now finally approached Liverpool regarding the England international.
Calciomercato claimed that the Reds have received an offer from Villa for Gomez, adding that the defender cannot be sold. It doesn’t mention whether Johan Lange launched a permanent or temporary bid for the player, with NSWE promising Gerrard a huge January transfer kitty.
