Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard is reportedly keen on signing four Rangers players ahead of the January transfer window.
According to 90min, whose claims resurfaced in a report from Shoot, Glen Kamara, Ryan Kent, Borna Barisic and Nathan Patterson are all on his radar. As to be expected, a number of Aston Villa fans have been reacting to the news on social media.
Gerrard left Ibrox for Villa Park last month and has made a solid start to life in the Midlands, winning four of his first six games in charge, his only defeats coming at the hands of the Premier League's top two in Manchester City and Liverpool.
He has been promised a huge January kitty in his first transfer window at the club by NSWE and it seems as if the Rangers quartet are players of interest. 90min’s claims from recent weeks came back to life after Shoot subsequently shared a story on the links.
Villa fans react
Total Villa shared 90min’s claim via Twitter on Friday afternoon. Here is what these Villa supporters had to say in reply, with one admitting that he would be ‘surprised’ if the club were to land more than two of the mooted Ibrox targets.
“I'd happily take Kamara, Kent and Patterson. Would be good additions for sure. Not sure about Barisic due to age.”
“Would only take Kamara”
“Can't you only sign two players in a month from the same club? I'd be surprised if we signed more than 2.”
“I hope this is a joke!! Kamara is OK but the rest not good enough. This is not ambitious enough for me.”
“Looking tidy in that pub league means nothing. Let them stay with Rangers.”
“Only taking Kamara, the rest can stay in Scotland”
