Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to a transfer report claiming that an asking price has been set for Frederic Guilbert to leave the club.
After securing their top flight status last season with a final day draw against West Ham United, the Midlands side are now preparing for a second consecutive season in the Premier League.
Manager Dean Smith is expected to make several changes to his squad and utilise the transfer window, and the arrival of Matty Cash has strengthened the club’s defensive backline.
That has left Guilbert’s chances of finding first team football at Villa Park significantly reduced and L’Equipe have since claimed that the Frenchman has been ‘pushed’ towards an exit by the club. Guilbert joined Aston Villa from Caen last summer and made 25 Premier League appearances in his first season in England.
Following on from that report, further claims have now been made that Villa have set an asking price of €5m (£4.52m) for the defender.
Reacting to the report via Twitter, many Villa fans gave their opinion on Guilbert’s potential exit…
I don’t see the issue with Guilbert. I like him, his season was broken up through injury. I think he’s got potential.

He could play right back and Matt cash out wide

Reported £5m way too cheap! Personally I don’t think he’ll be going anywhere.
