Baker and Blackman haven’t lived up to expectations under Bielsa

Bielsa

Leeds United have struggled for form in recent times as they continue to slip away from the automatic promotion places.

The Whites will need to ensure some consistency after the international break as they’ve conceded too many draws in recent times due to a lapse in concentration.

Indeed, the Yorkshire club desperately need to identify the winning formula before it’s too late as all the surrounding teams continue to pick up valuable points in the race for promotion.

However, a couple of Bielsa’s summer signings haven’t helped the cause as they continue to disappoint and stagnate at Elland Road, with supporters beginning to lose their faith.

With that in mind, these TWO Leeds United flops are Bielsa’s worst signings…

Lewis Baker

Lewis Baker joined on loan from Premier League side Chelsea during the summer transfer window, but hasn’t been able to impress enough to deserve a regular place in the side. Indeed, it was always going to be difficult for him to enjoy a breakthrough with Leeds United having one of the most settled midfield lines in the Championship.

So, the midfielder will have to settle for substitute appearances from here on in as a last resort in the case of any injuries on the field for the Whites.

Jamal Blackman

Jamal Blackman joined on loan from Premier League side Chelsea during the summer transfer window, but he is still waiting for his first Championship appearance under Marcelo Bielsa.

Indeed, the goalkeeper wasn’t able to keep the ball out of his net in the EFL Cup as he conceded three goals during his two appearances for the Whites.

And, with Bailey Peacock-Farrell constantly ensuring consistency in-between the sticks for Leeds United, it will be impossible for the 24-year-old to enjoy a run in the side unless an injury occurs.
