Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are groaning after hearing reports that they face competition as they look to complete a deal for a long-term target.
The Red Devils may have been linked with Gareth Bale for as long as time itself but Fichajes state Bayern Munich have joined the hunt for the Real Madrid winger.
Reportedly out of favour with the Spanish media and Real Madrid fans, Bayern are said to be eying a world-record move for the Welsh wizard; seeing Bale as the ideal replacement for Arjen Robben, who’s struggled recently with injury problems.
Bale remains adamant he is happy in Spain and has success previously, scoring in the successes in the Champions League and Copa Del Rey back in 2014, but has faced a turbulent time since- especially after Rafael Benitez took over in the summer.
Fans at the bar are determined to see Bale back in the Premier League but accept that Bayern may be the more favourable destination, as the German side are almost guaranteed success every year.
