Manchester United have several players gaining valuable experience out on loan this season, with many impressing across Europe.
Marcus Rashford has rediscovered form at Barcelona, who hold an option to sign him permanently, while Rasmus Højlund is thriving at Napoli and is also expected to secure a full-time move.
Jadon Sancho, meanwhile, has delivered solid performances at Aston Villa, as others like André Onana and a number of younger prospects continue their development elsewhere.
Now, one of United’s loanees is once again attracting attention from a familiar admirer.
Dortmund Interested in Signing Sancho Again
Borussia Dortmund are exploring the possibility of bringing Jadon Sancho back to the club on a permanent deal, according to The Athletic.
The 25-year-old winger is currently on loan at Aston Villa, but his contract with Manchester United is set to expire this summer, raising the likelihood of a permanent exit from Old Trafford.
Sancho previously returned to Dortmund on loan in early 2024 and played a key role in their run to the Champions League final, even starting the showpiece at Wembley, where they were beaten by Real Madrid. His performances during that spell further strengthened his connection with the German side.
Dortmund are now said to be “interested” in securing his return once again, and the player is believed to be open to the move. Reports suggest he would even be willing to lower his wage demands to facilitate a transfer back to the Bundesliga.
The winger — once labelled “amazing” by Ian Wright — remains hugely popular among Dortmund supporters. Having joined the club as a teenager from Manchester City, he developed into one of Europe’s most exciting young talents, winning the DFB-Pokal in 2021 during his first spell.
Sancho is also attracting interest from clubs in Italy and Turkey, while Aston Villa’s stance on a permanent deal remains uncertain. Their transfer plans are likely to depend on where they finish in the Premier League and which European competition they qualify for.
With his Manchester United future nearing its end, Sancho appears set for another major decision this summer. A return to Borussia Dortmund could offer familiarity and a chance to reignite his career, but with interest building from across Europe, his next move is far from decided.
