The Manchester United fans will have to wait until next week to see their side in action Champions League action against Sevilla, but they were still interested to see how their Premier League rivals fared in Europe this week.
Plenty of the Red Devils faithful propping up our bar in the tavern were keen spectators in Tottenham’s match against Juventus for more reasons than one, and the performance of one individual really caught the eye of the onlooking supporters.
The likes of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli impressed in the final-third with their intricate play and eagerness to make things happen, but it was Mousa Dembele who earned the majority of plaudits amongst the United supporters.
The Belgian international continued his fine run of form of late with a magnificent performance at the heart of Tottenham’s midfield, as his calmness in possession and ability to dictate proceedings enabled the Lilywhites to dominate and take the game to Juventus.
Following the conclusion of the first-leg, the United supporters took to Twitter to laud Dembele’s performance and call for their club to bring him to Old Trafford in the summer.
At 30-years-old, Dembele hardly represents a forward-thinking signing, but considering the quality of his performance on Tuesday night it is easy to sympathise with the demands of the United supporters.
