Brendan Rodgers is missing a trick not utilising these 2 Celtic fringe players

Celtic are romping to the Scottish Premier League title under Brendan Rodgers and it’s been a solid season at Parkhead for all involved, much to the delight of both Brendan Rodgers and their fans here in the Tavern!

After a comfortable 2-0 win over Hamilton last weekend, the Bhoys continued their storming league win-rate and ahead of a busy couple of weeks, they could have the title in the bag as early as April, if things continue to go their way.

If Rangers continue to wobble, most competition could be out of the window and fans here in the pub just want more European success going forward, which could be rectified if the right players come in this summer.

But here in the pub, there’s certain feeling that a couple of individuals in particular deserve more game-time and could be utilised in the future, especially with things flying on the pitch.

So with that in mind, here’s TWO fringe players Rodgers should be using more as the season comes to a close…..

Gary Mackay-Steven

Former Dundee United man Gary Mackay-Steven was highly rated when he first arrived at the club, but with the quality Celtic have on their books, he’s found it hard to get regular first-team starts.

His quality is undoubted at times and if he were to want to leave the club, there would certainly be a number of teams wanting to snap him up.

But would Celtic let him leave the club that easily? We’d have to wait and see.

Leigh Griffiths

Former hotshot Leigh Griffiths has fallen out of favour under manager Brendan Rodgers and he’s only just returned to the first-team, having fallen out with the manager earlier this season.

He’s a quality player who has banged in goals for fun in the past for the Bhoys, and he’s certainly the sort of player fans here in the pub want to see return to the first-team in the very near future.
