You wouldn’t normally put the Germans down as a nation given to flights of fancy; no, surely they’re of the reasonable, straight-forward, down-to-earth ilk?
Well, not the big-wigs at Bayern Munich, who are apparently confident they can sign Fernando Torres!
Bavarian news agency TZ reports that the Bundesliga giants are preparing a summer bid of £32m for Torres to rescue him from his nightmare season at Liverpool.
A glance at the top five teams in the Bundesliga reveals just one Spanish player between them – 23-year-old Gonzalo Castro, who plays for Bayer Leverkusen, and even he holds dual nationality. So, even as Liverpool’s plight worsens, and Torres looks increasingly unhappy at Anfield, few if any would say his future lies in Germany.
The obvious assumption has always been that Torres would return to Spain. However, Bayern have their reasons for thinking they are in pole position to sign him, and it’s hard to disagree with their logic: Torres will never join Real Madrid as a former Athletico Madrid man, and with Barcelona signing David Villa recently there is simply no room in the squad for Torres at the Nou Camp these days. Particularly if they want to buy Cesc Fabregas this summer.
At home, meanwhile, Liverpool would certainly do everything in their power to resist offers from another Premiership club, and that leaves just one team in the running: Bayern Munich.

Happy days. Be glad to see the back of him tbh. He let Rafa down last season and has done the same to Roy this season. Get Muller and Schweinsteiger in exchange. And then buy a striker who cares!!
like bayern is in much better situation!! lol

Torres received such a hot reception at the WC,mainly due to being a Liverpool star, because so many Liverpool fans wanted to see him – he really owes the Liverpool fans.
