The Newcastle fans in the Transfer Tavern have been waxing lyrical about their amazing Spanish manager, Rafa Benitez. The 2005 Champions league winning manager joined Instagram this week and has posted that he’s enjoying his last few days of holiday before returning to the Magpies, and the fans are absolutely loving it.

The way things are going on the transfer front, it will be a long time before the Geordies make a signing for their senior squad, despite being linked to a whole host of players so far. Instead of signings, the fans will have to make do with their manager’s social media updates as they look forward to seeing the coy Spaniard back in the dugout at St James Park, with their first game being at home to Spurs in August.
The upcoming season will be a big one for the club. The fans are expecting to see as many as five members of the senior squad sold to raise funds for Benitez to sign some of his top targets. The likes of Kenedy, Danny Ings and Andros Townsend have all been linked with a move to the Northeast and if Benitez can get even just two of those over the line then the fans will love him even more than they did before.
