The Newcastle United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hugely excited for their transfer window to click into gear. Indeed, after a solid enough campaign back in the Premier League, the punters propping up our bar hope for a more proactive approach this time around.
With that in mind, reports emerging over in Italy have sparked quite the reaction online. According to Calcio Mercato, the Magpies have made an enquiry over Juventus midfielder, Stefano Sturaro. The Italian is a peripheral figure with the Old Lady and would represent a coup for the Toon Army this summer, despite his lack of regular game time in Serie A.
A multiple title winner, the Italian’s arrival on Tyneside would certainly give our punters clad in black and white plenty to shout about this summer, should a deal be possible. So, having said all that, here’s a look at the reaction to the rumour on Twitter.
