It was all going so well for the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern last night…
After a torrid run of form, the Toffees finally managed to turn things around against Sunderland in the Carabao Cup. The Championship outfit were unable to cope with Ronald Koeman’s side, and a 3-0 win was a worthy result for the Merseyside team.
However, though fans were dreaming of a cup run as the final whistle blew, things came crashing down rather quickly for them. Unfortunately, out of all the teams that they could have been drawn with in the next round, they happened to come upon Chelsea – the reigning Premier League champions. The announcement came not long after the final whistle was blown.

The Blues fired five past Nottingham Forest to book their place in the next round, and with Antonio Conte’s side performing well in the Premier League, most fans are feeling rather negative now.
This lack of optimism has spread to social media, it seems, with Everton fans taking to Twitter to reveal their frustration at the draw.
