Celtic fans on Twitter desperate for Boyata to follow Christie and sign a new contract

After a fantastic result in the Europa League following their 2-1 win over RB Leipzig, Celtic were handed a setback in the SPL with Livingston managing to hold them to a 0-0 draw over the weekend.

However, despite dropping two points, Brendan Rodgers’ men still sit at the top of the table and have been given a massive boost going forward with Ryan Christie having just put pen to paper on a new three-year deal.

One player in the Celtic squad, though, whose future still remains unclear is Dedryck Boyata. The 27-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season with no indication from his side that he is willing to sign an extension.

Boyata failed in his quest to depart Celtic Park during the summer, leaving the Glasgow club in a difficult predicament as his current deal runs down.

Boyata, a Belgium international, has been a huge success at the Bhoys since arriving from Manchester City back in 2015, losing him would come as a huge blow to Rodgers.
