Celtic fans have greatly enjoyed the last 12 months as they yet again wrapped up a Scottish domestic treble, leaving their greatest rivals and Old Firm adversaries with nothing. However, as Steven Gerrard has supposedly snubbed the Newcastle job, as per The Daily Mirror, the Hoops have been quick to dismiss the story.

According to the article, the Bluenoses are far from happy with Mike Ashley for making an approach for Gerrard, and the fractious relationship between the sportswear tycoon and the Glasgow club has been thrust into the light again, with Ashley formerly owning a stake of the club until he sold his shares back in 2017, Sky Sports.
Now, though, with Gerrard supposedly turning down the chance to make the move south and manage in the Premier League, plenty of Celtic fans have flocked to lambast the reports.
After a season of disappointment finishing 2nd in the league and losing to Aberdeen in both domestic cups, the former England skipper is set to remain at Ibrox, and the Hoops refuse to believe he was in contention for the Newcastle role.
