Celtic defender Christopher Jullien was the target of criticism from plenty of Hoops fans on Twitter on Boxing Day.
The 26-year-old centre-back had some moments to forget during his team’s 2-1 win away to St Mirren, between missed chances, controversial incidents and defensive sloppiness.
The Frenchman missed a good opportunity to score with the game at 2-0 in the second half when he missed the target with a header from a Ryan Christie free kick (as per Sky Sports).
Shortly afterwards, a moment of slackness gave Jon Obika a chance for the home side, with Fraser Forster ultimately denying the St Mirren man (as per BBC).
Jullien was also involved in a tangle with Obika when he blocked off his opponent and then caught him in the face with a flailing arm, although the contact was minimal despite the dramatic reaction from Obika (as per SPFL on YouTube).
Jullien gave away the free kick from which St Mirren scored late on (as per Read Celtic), with the ball skimming off his head on its way into the Celtic net (as per Herald Scotland).
These Hoops fans on Twitter weren’t impressed with the 26-year-old on Boxing Day, with one comparing him unfavourably to ex-Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk:

He thinks he’s the next Van Dijk at times. He should just focus on being the current Jullien.

Shocking second half. Big Jullien’s worst performance since Livi away.
