Celtic in line for hugely lucrative deal after Rodgers revolution (not Dembele)

Though their Champions League hopes are quickly dwindling, the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern have been in good spirits as their side managed to rescue a point in Germany to keep their dream alive.

For many of the Bhoys propping up the bar, Brendan Rodgers has brought the good times back to Parkhead of late as they do their very best to forget the rather stagnant Ronny Deila era.

With the Norwegian coach famously struggling to get the Hoops into the continent’s elite competition, reports from the Daily Record have only reminded the Glasgow drinkers on what they missed out on under his stewardship.

They’ve revealed that the SPFL champions are in line for a minimum of at least a £26m payout after reaching the group stages, with that figure likely to rise as it does not include gate receipts, matchday revenue or match day hospitality.

These are exciting times for the club, with Rodgers likely to be handed an increased transfer budget as a result in an attempt to race away from the rest of the league and prepare more for European football.
