It’s been a while since they lifted up the famous trophy, and with Pep Guardiola finally having a close to perfect team, there is a sense in the Transfer Tavern that this could be their year.

Domestically, they’ve done well so far, and alongside their Manchester Rivals, Man Utd, it’s looking like a two-horse race for the title at present.

Yaya Toure has, once again, lost his place under Pep Guardiola, and he’s going to need to overperform in order to get it back.

He’s clearly still got it – he proved that last year – but the Spaniard just doesn’t seem to rate him. It’s a shame, given how much he has achieved, but it’s no real surprise given the quality in the Man City first team.

The Ivorian is a great option in the middle of the park, and his legs will give a rest to some of Man City’s harder worked midfielders.

Tosin Adarabioyo has been on the verge of the Man City first team for a while now, and this could the season in which he finally makes it through.

He has looked good when given an opportunity, and the problems at the back of the Man City first team are evident.

They’re crying out for a fresh young face to come in and impress, and the centre-half could be the perfect ticket for Pep Guardiola.
