Lee Bowyer has given his thoughts on how the 2019/20 season might end and has stated he wants to finish this campaign playing out the remaining fixtures.
Before English football was put on hold, Charlton slipped into the bottom three for the first time since the current campaign began. Their last match before the league suspension was a slim 1-0 defeat to Middlesborough, which saw the Addicks drop into the relegation zone. As such, if the season is decided by a Points Per Game system, Charlton are in danger of being demoted to League One.

Bowyer has commented that he wants to see out Charlton’s season through playing the games that are left in the league. “People will say that it is easy for me to say, because we’ve slipped into the bottom three but of course I would rather finish the season playing,” the 43-year-old said.
“I would have still said the same, even if we weren’t in the bottom three.”
Addicks fans have responded to their manager’s comments and are in full agreement and support. One fan has said Bowyer is ‘a blessing’ whilst another has backed the gaffer for being ‘100% right’.
