Chelsea fans have been expecting the claim from the Sunday Times here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication have claimed that the Blues will bring Thibaut Courtois back to the club next season – and he will be their number one.
Of course Chelsea have seen exactly what the stopper can do first hand after their Champions League exit to Atletico Madrid this week just gone.
It is certainly a cruel twist of fate for Petr Cech that his injury sustained during the first leg of that tie could well see him lose his spot to Courtois permanently.
One of our punters moves over to our landlord at the bar and makes a valid point whilst ordering a pint.
He notes that current number one Cech is of course still one of the best in the world, and we cannot imagine him being a star that is easily dropped – not to mention the fact that Mark Schwarzer wants to stay for another season as a back-up option.
Courtois meanwhile will not return to play second fiddle next season and we do not blame him.
Who do you think will be the Chelsea number one next season? Will Cech lose his spot permanently? Let us know your thoughts below.

Cech will give anyone a fight. Can not be easily dislodged.
Courtois is amazing and a good youngster he should be made number one but cech should play the big teams and should be subbed on regurlarly
In my opinion Cech is a superb shotstopper, owever he should be dropped down the pecking order at chelsea and give courtois a chance to show off his fanatastic shotstopping ability to chelsea supporters. Moreover hazard issue is justa mind game so there’s noneed for mourinho to react to his comments even thou there out of content he is argubably chelsea’s best plyaer and he should remain at the club if chelsea want to win titles next seaon.
If chelseafc sold Eden Hazard Barca or PSG, the club will be come tropless nest again
