Chelsea contemplate January deal for highly-rated midfielder

This is not a very popular move amongst the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been touted as Chelsea’s greatest youth player over the last few years – but this season, things have not gone too well for the youngster.

After impressing under Mourinho, the Englishman has found first-team opportunities increasingly hard to come by under Antonio Conte, and at 20-years-old – he simply needs to be playing every week.

This has, seemingly, led to the rather natural conclusion of the Blues considering what to do with the talented youngster – and it would seem that a loan move could be on the cards…

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are seriously considering sending Loftus-Cheek out on this season – with the midfielder struggling under Antonio Conte.

This news comes alongside reports by The Telegraph that suggested that West Ham boss Slaven Bilic could use his relationship with Conte in order to get both Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Dominic Solanke on loan – and that would certainly be a good move for the pair.

The deal would certainly make sense, given how little he has been involved this season – but the Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are still disappointed. They thought that Loftus-Cheek could be the man to finally break Chelsea’s youth duck – and if he goes out on loan, they fear that he could just become another number.

Our landlord thinks that the Blues have little choice, though. He fears that this is just one of the many consequences of Chelsea’s management conveyer belt, and until they stick with one manager long-term – this will continue to happen.
